The Federal Tax Filing Due Date has been pushed back to July 15th.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, the Treasury and the IRS are delaying the tax deadline for personal and single-member business taxes by 120 days.
During the three- month deferral period, taxpayers will not be subject to interest and penalties.
The 120 -day tax deadline delay will make the new due date for 2019’s Federal taxes, July 15th.
The deadline pushback should not hold you back from filing, however. You should still get your 2019 taxes into the government as soon as possible. Especially if you are due a refund and could use the extra funds.
While the IRS and Federal government are delaying the deadline, you still need to check your state’s tax filing deadline.
Many states have pushed back tax filing deadlines as well but those deadlines will vary from state to state. You can find more info about your state’s filing position by visiting their official state website.
With the global health crisis and the majority of Americans self quarantining getting your taxes done could be difficult.
PCS offers remote tax filings for personal and business. Everything is over the phone and you will submit your important tax documents online via a secure portal.
If you have any questions about your personal business taxes or would like to hear more about our comprehensive tax filing service, schedule an appointment to speak with an advisor over the phone.
Again, the 120 -day tax filing delay is for federal returns only. Double-check your state’s tax deadlines to see if there are any delays.
We hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
